Colour Plates

Here are just a couple of colour plates which I made a while ago. This was the style I developed before cutting black silhouettes... but it's still all cut paper. I cut out all the different segments and then carefully layer them... It's a bit more painstaking than the plain silhouettes, but I really like how much character and narrative these pictures can convey.

Cat Alley

Inspired by my sister Ruth/housemate Catherine, who both love cats. Ruth looks after a hoard of scraggly Jakarta cats and Catherine likes to visit the cats in a little alley near our house... cute.

Two more collections...

I've been snipping away over the last few weeks to finish two more collections for cards...

Here they are. The children series is really quite dreamy, don't you think??

Cards

As of the beginning of this year, I've started to print my designs on cards and have been blessed enough to have them selling through a growing pool of gorgeous shops in Sydney (eeek!!). The cards are made of 280gsm finely textured white paper, and the designs printed crisply in a glossy black. I've paired the cards with the most amazingly soft recycled paper envelopes, and it's all packaged together in little cello bags. Pretty.

Do not copy or reproduce these images. Thanks.

Luke & Meg's wedding

At the end of last year, my lovely friends Luke and Meg got married (to each other). So I made their wedding invitations...  The day was just beautiful, and they were ridiculously happy. How amazing is the kombi van spare-tyre cover? Meg's dad is a kombi fanatic, who has a friend who makes customized covers... So my design was copied, cut out of vinyl and hand-stitched to a white cover. Amazing!

Paper beautiful

Some photos from my room, and in the garden. Thanks x 1 billion to Sophie  for taking these for me!

A warm welcoming...

Welcome to my blog! My name is Miriam.

Here is a little spot of blog where you can find all the latest updates on art I've made and new products.

A little bit about me: I am 21, on the cusp of finishing (hurray!) my BArts degree at UNSW, living in Surry Hills (accidentally - not because I'm a trendy hipster), and despite my best efforts to try and diversify my life skills, I can't seem to get away from making art.

So I hope you like what you see. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me.

Cheers!
